Slow-moving garbage trucks

At four in the afternoon the sun has long since completed its brief appearance over the horizon but the sky still bares its evidence: we are out of the darkest days of the year. This is one of my favourite times, between day and night, between busy and quiet. A friendly hockey match in the middle of a street shared with slow-moving garbage trucks and lazy snowmobilers captures the mood perfectly. This is Kugluktuk on a January afternoon.
